That’s when I made the shift into freelancing. Working with business owners changed everything. I wasn’t handing off a finished website. I was solving problems. I was grappling with real challenges: Why isn’t my phone ringing? Why can’t people find me on Google? I decided my work needed to answer those questions, not look good.

It took time to connect the dots between design and strategy. I tested different methods on several projects. I focused on what content converts. I checked which SEO fixes boost rankings. I also examined what local businesses need compared to what looks good on paper. Every project taught me something I couldn’t have learned from a course.
